James Heflin

James Heflin is a financial editor for Achieve, and was previously an editor for The Ascent (The Motley Fool) and The Valley Advocate newspaper in Western Massachusetts. He holds an MFA from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and an MA from Hollins University. He's a science fiction writer and Gypsy jazz guitarist. His book Krakatoa Picnic came out in 2017.

James’ financial interests began with investing in stocks for fun. He’s since focused on making the most of unpredictable income, specializing in making financial knowledge more accessible, particularly for artists and writers. His expertise ranges from the monetizing of NFTs and digital content to the financial aspects of self-employment.
